Ten businesses from six countries have made the shortlist of the Shell LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators Awards, a global competition which highlights and rewards businesses that demonstrate excellence in innovation.

The Awards recognise businesses demonstrating innovation in the categories of Energy Solutions, Retail Supply Chain, and Social Enterprises. The winner of each category will receive a top prize of $20,000 and two runner-ups from each category will each receive a prize of US $10,000. All ten winners will receive an award package, including mentoring support by a Shell expert, the opportunity to benefit from market linkages, the possibility to be considered as a vendor to Shell (Retail) and invited to the Top Ten Innovators final event during Global Entrepreneurship Week on 13 and 14 November in Kuching, Malaysia. Here, a global senior expert judging panel will select the overall category winners in an exciting business pitch competition.

This year, An Outstanding Achievement Award was also introduced. Shell is pleased to announce this Outstanding Achievement award goes to De-Rabacon Plastics from Nigeria, along with US $10,000 prize money.

The finalists were chosen from 21 shortlisted entries by internal and external experts specialising in entrepreneurship, energy, waste management, retail and social science. Those entries also went to a public vote which attracted over 11,000 voters from 102 countries.

The Awards are open to alumni of Shell LiveWIRE, Shell’s flagship social investment enterprise development programme. This year’s Awards are delivered in partnership with Shell Retail and will identify outstanding Shell LiveWIRE businesses which can enhance the sustainability of Shell Retail business and operations.
