In addition to awards funding totalling US $130k, this year’s winners will also have an unrivalled opportunity to work with Shell Retail to enhance sustainability within its supply chain.
With its theme of ‘Creating Better Futures By Reducing Waste’, Shell Retail Global Social Cause aims to deliver shared value for society and for the business, by reducing waste in the company’s retail operations, and working with partners to drive social and environmental change in the communities in which it operates.
Explaining the collaboration with Shell LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators, Flavia Ribeiro Pessanha, Global Sustainability and Social Purpose Manager, Shell Retail, said, “Collaboration is a critical element of how we are going to meet our ambition of reducing waste and creating better futures. We can’t do it alone. So, who better to collaborate with than the Shell LiveWIRE programme, which has been investing in pioneering entrepreneurial ideas to tackle some of the world’s toughest energy challenges for years.
“By partnering with Shell LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators to create exciting new award categories around disruptive energy and sustainable supply chain ideas, we are confident that we will uncover the brightest and most innovative solutions for waste reduction and enabling a lower CO2 future, with the added benefit of enhancing our retail supply chain.”
This year, TTI provides three award categories:
- Energy Solutions – targeting enterprises that are providing disruptive innovations within the energy space
- Retail Supply Chain – aimed at enterprises that are providing innovative solutions to enhance the sustainability of Shell’s retail supply chain and helping to reduce, reuse, and repurpose waste across Shell Retail operations
- Social Enterprises – for enterprises that help to power human progress and deliver positive social change
Entry is by Shell LiveWIRE Programme Manager invitation only, and up to 10 alumni businesses per country can apply. The window for applications runs from 9 April to 9 May, and the winners will be announced during Q4.
