Patrick was appointed as Vice President for Global Key Accounts & Global Businesses in March 2018, based in London. His task is to grow Shell’s commercial relationships with major customers in different sectors who want to partner with Shell on a global basis. These partnerships are typically centred around, but not limited to, the supply of lubricants and fuels.

Prior to his current role, Patrick was the GM for Shell’s Retail (petrol station) business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In that role, Patrick was responsible for transforming and growing the Retail business in one of Shell’s most important fuels retail markets. Patrick started out in Shell’s internal management consultancy and has previously worked in a number of P&L and strategy roles such as the GM for Lubricants Strategy & Portfolio, GM Lubricants Business Development and GM Fuel Cards in Central/Eastern Europe. He joined Shell in 2000 and has been based in Germany, Hungary/CEE and the UK whilst also spending significant time in Japan, Malaysia and Latin America. He speaks English, German, Spanish and French.

Patrick was born in Germany with a French name and Dutch family. He graduated from the University of Mannheim with a degree in Economics, followed by an MBA in Paris, Milan and Leipzig. His partner Julia and son Theodor love to travel extensively and cook intensively and Patrick is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction with a particular knack for history, ranging from arts to military history. He also owns a vintage Italian sports car - to the great joy of licensed car workshops in the area, for which he provides steady business.
