Behind the judging
Every Impact Makers application is read carefully by the global Shell LiveWire team, who spend weeks reviewing businesses from across the network. While every application is assessed against the same criteria, no two businesses are the same -which is exactly what makes the process so rewarding.
As Charlotte Friedli, Shell LiveWire Global Lead explains“Every year we’re inspired by the breadth of impact being created across the Shell LiveWire community. This year’s finalists are applying innovative approaches to address societal, environmental and business challenges, while creating meaningful change for their customers, communities and industries. The standard was exceptionally high, making the selection process incredibly difficult.
“I’d also like to thank every entrepreneur who took the time to apply. Putting your work forward for recognition takes courage and confidence, and we know there’s a huge amount of dedication, resilience and hard work behind every application. While not everyone could become a finalist, every business submitted is making an important contribution within its own community.
“The diversity of businesses across the global Shell LiveWire network reminds us that positive impact looks different in every country and every community, and that’s something worth celebrating. We hope everyone who applied feels proud of what they’ve achieved and continues to grow the positive impact they're creating.”
What happens next?
The finalists now move on to the public voting stage, which opens on 3 September and closes on 24 September.
During this time, public from around the world will be able to vote for the businesses they believe deserve to be recognised as this year’s Impact Makers.
If you’re one of this year’s finalists, don’t be shy about celebrating your achievement. We’ll provide social media assets so that you can share the news with your networks, tell your story and encourage friends, customers, colleagues and supporters to cast their vote. Every vote counts, so this is your chance to showcase your business and the impact you’re making.
We’ll be sharing finalist stories throughout the voting period, so keep an eye on our community platform and social channels.
The LiveWire community spirit is a vital part of the programme ethos, so don’t forget to show your support for your fellow entrepreneurs by casting your vote too!
Good luck to all our finalists.
